I’ll bet you thought I was going to say Tool, didn’t you? My favorite band’s long awaited album Fear Inoculum dropped on the same day as this masterpiece, but this is the one that moved me misty eyed.
Lana Del Rey is Mazzy Star, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell and Alanis Morissette rolled up into one silken-voiced beautifully pouty package, and this album, I’m not even sure what to say about it, except that it’s jaw-droppingly beautiful, heartbreaking, intimate and real. It’s my pick of the week. Put it on and feel something.
