Some of you may not know this, but I bought my first guitar when I was 36. I bought my first electric guitar when I was 37. At that point, I started writing songs and learning the ins and outs of home recording. I had a few songs under my belt when I decided I wanted to release my first album before I turned 40.
I did exactly that, releasing the self published “It’s Hard” in 2009 on iTunes and Amazon just before my 40th birthday. That’s 3 years from beginning to learn how to make music to the release of an album with 8 original and 2 cover songs.
In that time I learned how to write, arrange, record, mix, and master music as well as publish and license songs. Not to mention play guitar and bass and sing just well enough to do all of the above! 10 years later, I’m still doing all of those things for myself and others, and still going strong with my original project Mojo’s Army.
This year, as a celebration of the 10 year anniversary of my first album, I’m giving it away as a free download on Bandcamp through the end of 2019. Find the remastered & rereleased version of It’s Hard, now called It’s Still Hard, on Bandcamp here!
Enjoy!
