Mojo’s Pick of the Week – Exordium by Wytch

Exordium by WytchOn heavy repeat in my ears this week is the amazing debut full length from Swedish rockers Wytch, fresh out from Ripple Music everywhere!

Prepare for heavy riffs and powerful pipes. Sounding something like a cross between Fleetwood Mac and Ghost, this hard rocking quintet bring some mature heavy AOR vibes on this killer album.

If you like Metallica and Blue Oyster Cult and dig the likes of Lucifer and Royal Thunder, you will dig Wytch. Give exordium a spin!

Mojo’s Pick of the Week – Slomosa by Slomosa

SlomosaIf you like ASG and Freedom Hawk, you’ll love Norway’s Slomosa, who was just voted Best New Band in the first annual Doomed & Stoned Awards (Doomies)! I’d love to tell you more about them, but I don’t know much and what little I can find is in Norwegian! I think they’re a four piece with three dudes and a chick and that’s all I have for now.

However, I have a feeling we’ll be hearing more from them and about them as time goes on, especially now that they’ve hit the scene’s radar, big time. In the meantime, enjoy their 2020 self-titled debut!

Mojo’s Pick of the Week – Quest for Oblivion by Sun Crow

Quest for Oblivion by Sun CrowThis doomy debut from Seattle rockers Sun Crow actually came out at the end of 2020, capturing the ears of heavy rock label Ripple Music, who just rereleased it to even wider acclaim.

With its hypnotic, heavy energy, Quest for Oblivion sounds like a milestone album from a veteran band, not the auspicious debut of an up and coming stoner rock band.

Self-described as “existential doom blues and proto metal”, the sludgy, bluesy riffage of Sun Crow will weave its way into your subconscious and plant a skull and crossbones flag on your psyche. Let it.

Standout tracks: End Over End, Nothing Behind
