Mojo’s Pick of the Week – Anthrax “For All Kings”

How can my pick of the week be anything other than the latest album from thrash metal legends Anthrax?

For All Kings is the band’s 11th studio album, and their second since bringing singer Joey Belladonna back into the fold after being fronted by John Bush of Armored Saint. While the previous album Worship Music was well-received, it was partly written with then-vocalist Dan Nelson in a period of membership turmoil. For All Kings is a true return to form for the legendary Big Four members, sounding like they picked up right where they left off after their outsanding 1990 opus Persistence of Time.

This is an excellent, solid album, the way albums are meant to sound, ebbing and flowing and chock full of strong cuts like Blood Eagle Wings and Breathing Lightning. It just cracked the Billboard top 10 albums, which means you’ve probably bought it already or at least heard it. And if not, what are you waiting for? It’s fucking Anthrax!

New How-to Videos Up!

Hey rockers – while you probably know I have my entire catalog of music and all of the Answer is None songs streaming on my YouTube channel, you may not know that I also have several helpful “how-to” videos up as well. One on building an inexpensive pedalboard, one on adjusting the frequency sweep on a Crybaby wah, and other guitar and gear-related videos.

I’ve added a few more recently related to recording guitar on a computer, plus some helpful basics on getting started mixing music. Mojo’s Pick of the Week – Riding Easy Records

This is a first for me – a label being my Pick of the Week. But Riding Easy Records’ Soundcloud page works as a great sampler of some of the best indie stoner and fuzz rock out there right now. Bands like Brown Acid, Electric Citizen, and central California’s Slow Season, a band that recorded their very throwback sounding rock album Mountains in the drummer’s parents’ garage on reel to reel tape.
