Dear Rockers, don’t read too much into this:
I am taking our debut album “It’s Hard” off iTunes and Amazon at the end of this month. Up till now, direct sales have covered the expense. But with the recent 250% jump in Tunecore renewal pricing, it doesn’t make sense for us to renew the subscription — not with so many other distribution methods available to us at low or no charge: Soundcloud, last.fm, Grooveshark, Bandcamp, etc.
In fact, correct me if I’m wrong, but I think we as music listeners are streaming more than we’re buying. YouTube, Pandora, internet radio stations, all add up to it simply not making sense for us to distribute via iTunes for now. When the other albums (Sex and Candy, Summer’s End) are up for renewal next year they’ll come down too…
In other words, if you want to support us by buying high quality versions of the original “It’s Hard” you have just two weeks left!
After that, you’ll still be able to stream and download MP3s of selected songs from the album at the sites mentioned above, and of course at mojosarmy.com. In the meantime, we’re still attempting to get songs placed in films and video games, putting songs on Soundcloud and working on some other stuff behind the scenes as we move into our annual summer slowdown.
But don’t worry, there will be more music. Oh yes, there will…
Stay sexy!
Mojo
