Announcement from Mojo’s Army

Dear Rockers, don’t read too much into this:

It's Hard front coverI am taking our debut album “It’s Hard” off iTunes and Amazon at the end of this month. Up till now, direct sales have covered the expense. But with the recent 250% jump in Tunecore renewal pricing, it doesn’t make sense for us to renew the subscription — not with so many other distribution methods available to us at low or no charge: Soundcloud, last.fm, Grooveshark, Bandcamp, etc.

In fact, correct me if I’m wrong, but I think we as music listeners are streaming more than we’re buying. YouTube, Pandora, internet radio stations, all add up to it simply not making sense for us to distribute via iTunes for now. When the other albums (Sex and Candy, Summer’s End) are up for renewal next year they’ll come down too…

In other words, if you want to support us by buying high quality versions of the original “It’s Hard” you have just two weeks left!

After that, you’ll still be able to stream and download MP3s of selected songs from the album at the sites mentioned above, and of course at mojosarmy.com. In the meantime, we’re still attempting to get songs placed in films and video games, putting songs on Soundcloud and working on some other stuff behind the scenes as we move into our annual summer slowdown.

But don’t worry, there will be more music. Oh yes, there will…

Stay sexy!
Mojo

Glancing Back, Forging Ahead

Happy New Year Rockers! I hope you all survived the holidays and that the shock of dragging your hungover carcasses back to work wasn’t too painful. (I know it was for me!)

We were way too busy in December to pause and take a proper look back at what a big year 2010 was for Mojo’s Army: wrote some killer new songs, released a single, a free EP, and our first video; completely rebuilt mojosarmy.com from the ground up, designed some sweet new shirts, saw some awesome shows and met some really cool people!

Our vision for the coming year is still crystallizing but I definitely know it will include even more new music — in fact, a brand new song “Forgive” is already in the works! I was just recording scratch vocals this week and plan to have a preview posted soon. This time around I think we’ll be releasing more in-progress samples so you can hear what’s going on behind the scenes. Look for more on that subject in the coming weeks.

Mojo’s Army is also branching out and adding collaborations to the list of goings-on! One is in the works with artist Jabberwocky and we’ll be posting a link to that as soon as it’s available. Make sure to follow us on Twitter and “Like” us on Facebook for the most up-to-date info.

While you’re at it, leave a comment or drop us a note and let us know what you would like to see more of from Mojo’s Army in 2011!

Rock on!
Mojo

Summer’s End FREE EP Drops Dec. 15!

Call us crazy — we are prereleasing the new EP “Summer’s End” independently, right here, on mojosarmy.com on December 15. For free. For you. Yes, knowing that free can sound desperate, knowing that free can sound like it will be worth what you pay for it. Gladly we know it’s better than that.

On December 15 you will be able to download the Summer’s End MP3s here at mojosarmy.com, and stream it in its entirety at Last.fm and SoundCloud. In January, Summer’s End will also be available in high-res versions at iTunes, Amazon.com and Rhapsody.

We want our music on your iPod. We want it in your ears. To that end we say if you like it, download it and pass it along to a friend. If you really like it and think it’s worth something, drop us a PayPal donation to show your support and help keep the music coming. In the meantime we’ll continue to make the best music we can and try to get it placed in a film, game or tv show. (If you know a music director or someone who can make this happen, all the better!)

Selected songs from the “Summer’s End” EP are already playing at our Reverbnation, Facebook, and MySpace sites! Join our mailing list and follow us on Twitter for news of other fan exclusives!

Rock on, and as always, thanks for your support of Mojo’s Army! We salute you!
/Mojo
