Mojo’s Pick of the Week – The Burden of Restlessness by King Buffalo

The Burden of Restlessness by King BuffaloAnother year, another killer collection of hypnotic syncopated songs by Rochester’s mighty psych trio, King Buffalo.

Steadfast, slightly upbeat and relentlessly mesmerizing despite the somewhat despairing poetry of the lyrics, The Burden of Restlessness fits right into the canon of King Buffalo’s quickly growing catalog.

Give it a spin and let your mind go…

Standout tracks: Burning, Locusts, Silverfish

Mojo’s Pick of the Week – Reverie by Forming the Void

I’m going to be honest, I thought I had already made this my Pick of the Week. I’d been intending to since it came out in earlier this year, but other great albums just kept dropping to the point where I didn’t realize I hadn’t spread the word about this killer album!

Louisiana’s Forming the Void has been unleashing their special brand of “prog-metal” for years, starting with their auspicious debut Relic in 2015. Their last full length, Rift, was a contender for one of my favorite albums of 2018.

Their latest psych rock full length, Reverie, has a relentless confidence that sounds like it doesn’t care if you listen or not, while it relentlessly drives its way into your subconscious.

Standout tracks: Onward Through the Haze, Trace the Omen

Let this one get under your skin.

New Album – The Answer is None!

The Answer is None CoverThis is the big one! Four years in the making with my partners in crime Troy Jay Adams and Jay Hale, with the help of drummers Michael Andrew and Kendall Bishop. A true labor of love and we’re so happy to share it with the world. It’s been called “killer”, a “masterpiece”, and likened to Ozzy, Megadeth, and Queensryche. We hope you love it as much as we do!

Here’s a sample, “I Know”
