Mojo’s Pick of the Week: Zepparella

ZepparellaZepparella – San Francisco’s own all-girl tribute to the mighty Led Zeppelin, comprised of former members of Bottom and A/C-DShe (Clementine on drums, Gretchen Menn on guitar, Nila Minnerok on bass, and fronted by Anna Kristina). What can I say about these incredible women? They are extremely talented, extremely hard working, very cool and quite easy on the eyes to boot. I’ve seen them several times and frankly I think they do Zeppelin better than Zeppelin. Their passion for the songs, their raw talent, and their camaraderie is so infectious that you’ll be smitten as soon as they take the stage. They are rockin Petaluma’s legendary Mystic Theatre this Saturday night with the always-energetic Dave Rude Band. Hope to see you there!

Mojo’s Pick of the Week: Circle of Thorns

Circle of Thorns is a dark alt-metal six piece band from New York that is both brutally heavy and surprisingly easy to listen to. Underneath the relentless face-pounding is an experimental thread that nearly puts them in a progressive category. Fans of Pantera and Alice in Chains will dig Circle of Thorns’ brand of brutal beats!
